Laila Schlesinger, Leisure Services Supervisor, has been with the Teams Elite program for 16 years and involved in skating for more than 35 years. Laila has been critical in the success of Teams Elite and the transition from ISI to USFS. Specializing in the Beginner Teams and bringing them to competitions around the Midwest, Laila is passionate about the sport. Laila is also the Skating School Director for the Northbrook Park District, a successful program with more than 800 skaters annually.
Lauren Roman brings 27 years of experience in figure skating skating as a competitor and coach. Lauren is a graduate of Marquette University, Miami University and the University of Illinois. Lauren's accomplishments as an individual skater include junior collegiate 4th place, 5th place at Upper Great Lakes regional as a senior lady and she is a USFS triple gold medalist in freestyle, ice dance and moves in the field.
Lauren was a member of the University of Illinois collegiate synchronized skating team from 2004-2008 and vice president during the '06-'07 and '07-'08 seasons. Lauren spent the 2012-2013 season as a member of the Crystallettes Senior team out of Dearborn, MI, where she competed internationally as a member of Team USA in Sweden and earned a US national bronze medal. Lauren started with the Teams Elite program in the 2015-2016 season as assistant coach on both the Juvenile and Intermediate teams which earned the national silver and pewter medals respectively
Josh Fischel graduated from Lake Forest College with a BA in Psychology. He is a former Junior Olympic bronze medalist. He has 19 years of coaching experience and has coached & choreographed for skaters having competing at the US Figure Skating National Championships. He began working with Teams Elite in 2017 with their Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice and Junior Teams specializing in turns, skating skills, and helping develop choreography.
Tracy has been involved in the sport of Figure Skating as a competitor or coach for over 40 years. She is a professional member of USFSA, PSA and ISI. She is PSA rated, USFS Learn to Skate USA, Foundations of Coaching, Basic Skills, and Hockey certified in addition to being an ISI Gold Level judge. She has extensive experience coaching figure skating including Freestyle, MIF, Compulsory Figures, Synchronized Skating and hockey at all levels.
Tracy joined the Teams Elite staff in the spring of 2018. Prior to joining Teams Elite, she coached at the Extreme Ice Center in the Charlotte, NC. area for five years where she started their Synchronized Skating program. She also spent 2 years on staff at the Glenview Ice Center and coached the Glenview Blades for 1 season. In addition to Teams Elite, Tracy is a member of the Northbrook Park District Skating Staff and teaches classes in our skating school as well as private coaching in Freestyle, Moves in the Field, and Hockey/Power Skating. She is looking forward to working with all of our skaters and teams this season.

Christina Albreski brings 28 years of experience in figure skating as a competitor and coach. Christina has tested MIF, Ice Dance, and FS. She competed for Chicago Jazz Synchronized Skating Team until 2006. Christina then attended Michigan State University earning a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She also has earned her Masters Degree in Reading Education from Concordia University and her ESL endorsement from National Louis University. She served as the Assistant Director of Figure Skating for five years in Darien. She is currently a fourth grade teacher in La Grange along with a competitive figure skating coach and choreographer. Christina coaches all levels of skaters from beginners to national level skaters. She has coached ISI and USFS Synchronized Skating Teams since 2009. She is a PSA (Professional Skaters Association) member and instructor in both Moves In The Field and Freeskate. Christina is also an ISI Gold Level Judge and Synchro Certified. She enjoys coaching both recreational and competitive skaters through the national level. Synchronized Skating is a passion of hers as it builds teamwork, dedication, and perseverance.
Ellie Lim will be going into her ninth season with Teams Elite. Out of the nine years, she has coached 2 seasons at the Synchro Skills 1 level as an assistant coach. She will be going into her third year as a coach in the 2019-2020 season. She started her synchronized skating career in the 2011-2012 season.
Ellie has earned national medals in the Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, and Junior levels, including capturing the 2017-2018 Intermediate National Title. She was also on Teams Elite’s first Junior team who made history by earning a spot on Team USA in its inaugural season. They competed in Milan, Italy at the 2019 Spring Cup. The team won the competition, bringing home the gold for the United States. Ellie is continuing her journey on the Teams Elite Junior line this season. She will also be coaching the Snowplow Sam team this year. Ellie is going to be a Junior at Glenbrook North High School as well. Ellie works for the Northbrook Park District as a camp counselor for a local camp at her ice rink.
